Online learning has attained a great deal of attention in this contemporary century. Web
and distance education is commonly known as online education and it has a crucial role
in the country's education sector. There is no doubt that online learning has various
benefits for students. The institution needs to know about students’ readiness in ensuring
the effectiveness of the online learning system. Therefore, this study is initiated to
examine the students’ readiness towards online learning in Universiti Teknologi Mara
(UiTM) Seremban 3. The data used from primary resources where the information
gathered from questionnaire and were analyzed by using SPSS. Data analysis was done
by indexes of descriptive statistics, Pearson Correlation, Multiple Regression, and one-
sample t-test. To analyses the factor that influences students’ readiness, it is necessary to
determine how the independent variables (motivation for learning, technology self-
efficacy, self-directed learning, online communication self-efficacy, attitude) affected the
endogenous variable (students’ readiness).361 students were selected by using
convenience method. Based on this study, findings indicated that there is a significant
relationship between motivation for learning, technology self-efficacy, self-directed
learning, online communication self-efficacy, attitude, and students’ readiness. This
study will provide some recommendations to increase the students’ readiness towards
online learning system.
