Malaysian teachers are hit with professionalism inquiry. The issue of the incompetent new teachers, the problematic of unskilled, less ethic value in term of disciplinary and attitude, less credibility and low level of quality are the concerned issues in country’s education system. The crisis of teacher professionalism should be given stern attention as teacher plays an important role to construct the future generation. Pre-service training program implemented is accountable to develop the skills, knowledge and value is being unconvinced to inspire the teachers’ professionalism. The pre-service training program can be a wasted and ineffective if it failed to meet the objectives. A random sample of 200 experienced teachers was interviewed on the issues. Technical knowledge, service ethic, commitment and autonomy were examined to provide information regarding the professionalism development issues. This study does not provide strong evidence of the determinant of workload to influence the professionalism. This study presents some recommendations for the teachers’, schools’ management and Malaysian government to improve the teachers’ professionalism development.
