Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is social activities done by companies in order to get positive relationship with their community. Generally, the good CSR programs give many benefits to the companies especially in terms of profitability and company reputation. The objectives in this study are to examine the impact CSR practices on current and potential employees commitment to the organizations. In Malaysia, the government was introduced the Silver Book as a guideline to the GLCs to encourage the GLCs to do more actively in social responsibility activities. Companies that followed the framework provided by Bursa Malaysia and Silver Book for GLCs would have good reputation and goodwill in the eyes of the community. However, in this study, four elements under the CSR framework such as environment, community, workplace and marketplace has no significant effect to the employee commitment in terms of to stay loyal and interested to work with the company. Companies cannot rely on CSR elements only as a factor to retain or attracts employees to work in the companies. It is because there are other internal and external factors that can affect the employee commitment for example good salary, bonuses and others. A good employee was produced a good contribution that affect companies production as well as profitability of the companies.
