The study focuses on the community intention to act against baby dumping by using the Theory of Planned Behaviour. The purpose of the study is to examine the relationship between attitude, subjective norms and intention to act against baby dumping. the study also examines whether the age group (younger and older) influence the relationship between intention to act against baby dumping and attitude, subjective norms and perceived behavioural control. This research emphasizes on the possible factors that will influence the intention of the community to help the teenagers who pregnant out of wedlock. This study used simple random sampling technique and stratified random sampling technique in distributing the questionnaire. From approximately 3660 visitors per day at Hospital Tengku Ampuan Rahimah (TAR) Klang, Selangor, the sample size for this study was 346 respondents. Based on the descriptive analysis emphasized on mean and standard deviation, it exhibited that the level of community intention to act against baby dumping among visitors at Hospital TAR, was at high level. The findings of this study indicated that all the three factors which are attitude, subjective norms and perceived behavioural control, showed significant relationship towards intention to act against baby dumping where (p<0.05). The attitude was the main factor that influenced the intention to act against baby dumping (β =0.334, t=5.945, p<0.01). Meanwhile, the perceived behavioural control led to higher intention to act against baby dumping (r=0.011, p<0.01). Finally, it is recommended to the government to reinforce positive attitudes and build affirmative perceptions of helping teenagers who are pregnant out of wedlock. the government also recommended to develop marketing tools and methods of information dissemination to the social pressure group. thus it is expected that this effort can help to reduce the baby dumping cases in future.
