ORGANIZATIONAL CULTURE AND ITS IMPACT ON JOB SATISFACTION IN AMPANG JAYA MUNICIPAL COUNCIL (MPAJ)


This study was conducted to know types of culture and their impact in the organization. Organizational culture is considered to be the most important factor in the public sector. Malaysian public sectors are experiencing a transformation phase in order to transform the culture in public sectors to be more efficient, effective and responsive that can lead to the job satisfaction among the employee. The theory of organizational culture by Wallach (1983) with three dimensions consist of the supportive culture, bureaucratic culture, and innovative culture was used by this particular research in order to evaluate the impact of organizational culture on job satisfaction among employee in Ampang Jaya Municipal Council (MPAJ), Malaysia. Using a quantitative study, this study surveys 200 employees in MPAJ as respondents. The result of this study shows that MPAJ offered a bureaucratic culture and innovative culture to their employees. The supportive culture does not really practiced in the MPAJ. The result also shows that the innovative culture has the significant effect on the job satisfaction among the employees. With the help of highest level of management and supervisor in MPAJ, it will help improve the organizational culture that can lead more on job satisfaction among employee at MPAJ.
