Day by day, the landfill is full with solid waste. Recycling has become one of the important approaches to reduce the rate of solid waste. The increase of population is the main contributor to the increase of generated waste amount in the country, and currently only less than 5% of waste is being recycled. The objective of this study is to measure the level of intention towards recycling of the public by using the Theory of Planned Theory of Planned Behaviour (TPB). Theory of Planned Behaviour is an extended version of Theory of Reasoned Action. The study consists of attitude, subjective norms, perceived behavioural control as well as the behavioural intention as in the Theory of Planned Behaviour. There are four objectives constructed, which are, to assess the level of intention towards recycling among the residents, examine the level of attitude, subjective norms, perceived behavioural control, government policy ,investigate the relationship between the attitude, subjective norms, perceived behavioural control, government policy towards the level of intention towards recycling and identify the role of gender in the level of intention among the residents of Seberang Takir, Kuala Terengganu In addition, another variable is added, which is government policy. A set of questionnaire was distributed to 348 respondents in Seberang Takir was conducted and the findings showed that the variables in Theory of Planned Behaviour and government policy are positively related and influenced the intention towards recycling among the residents in Seberang Takir, Kuala Terengganu.
