Corrupt practices and public servants are very common in a developing country. The Malaysian government has come out with many initiatives such as National Key Result Area (NKRA), sanctions and awareness campaign to curb corrupt practices among public servants. Recently our country has climbed up three places on Corruption Perception Index (CPI) to 50th place compared to previous year 53rd place. Even though the results show a good results but our country should perform better with initiatives done by the government. Therefore, this dissertation aim is to study The level of Understanding of Corrupt Practices among Public Servants in MBSA, Shah Alam. This study is based on data obtained from a survey questionnaire from the public servant in MBSA, Shah Alam in regard to Auditor General Report in 2012 has highlighted the increased cases of corruption, overspending and wastage by public servant to show that this crime is getting dangerous among them. Besides, this study also highlighted on three independent variables which are Financial Wellbeing Management, Exposure on Information and also Family Upbringing to determine which independent variables contribute the most to the level of understanding of corrupt practices among the public servants. The results of the study suggested that the government need to revise the salary and wages of the public servants as it is afraid that due to the high cost of living nowadays make the public servants commit corrupt practices as the way to run out from their financial management crisis. It is hoped that this study can contribute to the improvement of the government initiatives and the public servants level of understanding of corrupt practices.
