The problem of job hopping has been studied upon by a number of researchers in many fields. In the different sectors, which contribute to form a major distribution to the country's Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and claims to provide employment to a major part of the workforce, is pertinent to analyze the factors that influences and lead to the employee's disengagement from their employers. Further, with the increasing permeability of boundaries on the global front, thanks to the neo-liberalization waves, the cross-occupational and cross-organizational mobility of the employees a phenomenal growth, among generation Y. Concurrent with the job hopping of the employees in a bid to offset the damages of the rising attrition. The paper is one such attempt at reviewing the literature concept of job hopping and retention. The findings show that factors influence the generation Y to job hopping include the work or present job, supervision, salary and promotion have significant relationship with job satisfaction.
