CYBERCRIME VICTIMIZATION AMONG UNIVERSITY STUDENTS: A CASE STUDY OF POSTGRADUATE STUDENTS AT UNIVERSITY TEKNOLOGI MARA (UiTM), SHAH ALAM


The aim of this study was to examine the cybercrime victimization among postgraduate student at Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) Shah Alam. In this research, the researcher used elements in Routine Activity theory (RAT) to come out with the variables. To achieve the aim of the study, literature was reviewed. The main research method that the research used in this study is questionnaire. 380 questionnaires have been distributed to postgraduate students at UiTM Shah Alam to get their respondent. Sampling technique that the researcher used in this study is stratified sampling technique where the postgraduate students was categorized into three different strata which is Science and Technology, Management and Business and Social Science. Pearson Correlation and Multiple Regression were used to analyze the data. However, the finding shows that only two variables have positive relationship with dependent variable and one variable shows negative relationship with the dependent variable. Finally, the researcher came out with few recommendations which is individual should implement simple strategies for themselves, Increase the computer literacy, better empowerment of cyber law and further investigation and experimentation into cybercrime.
