BEHAVIORAL FACTORS OF INTERNAL WHISTLEBLOWING AMONG EMPLOYEES AT IMMIGRATION DEPARTMENT OF LIMBANG AND LAWAS


This research is about behavioral factors of internal whistle-blowing among employees at the Immigration Department of Limbang and Lawas. The researcher had selected the Theory of Planned Behavior which is attitude, subjective norm, and perceived behavioral control as behavioral factors that will influence the intention of the internal whistle-blowing among employees at both of the department. The purpose of this study is to determine the relationship of behavioral factors and the intention of internal whistle-blowing, to determine the moderating effect of whistleblower protection act on the relationship of behavioral factors and the intention to whistleblow and lastly is to identify the most significant behavioral factor in the intention of internal whistle-blowing among employees at both of the department. The study also had targeted both of the department population to be the respondents. The total of 141 of questionnaire was distributed to the respondents that consist of employees from both of the department. For the data analysis, the researcher had used the software Statistical Package for the Social Science (SPSS) version 20.0. Then the result of the findings will give the idea to the researcher come out with the recommendation and suggestion in order to encourage the employees blowing the whistle through the appropriate channel and increase the level of awareness among employees of the Whistleblower Protection Act that had been imposed since 2010.
