THE USEFULNESS, EASE OF USE AND TRUST ON USES OF E-SERVICES AMONG THE POSTGRADUATES STUDENTS IN UiTM SHAH ALAM


Electronic services by governments provide various of services to the citizens through online system, include carrying out a variety of the transaction between the government and citizens. These transactions include the people’s personal information through electronic form. Unfortunately, some of the citizens remains suspicious of towards the information technology (IT), either due to they are unfamiliar with the system or have concerns about how the public agencies might use their information. Meanwhile, the other citizens are simply unaware that a range of the services are becoming available through online. The other some groups within the citizens may be concerned that they will be no longer be able to access the services in the traditional way and because of that they get the advantages and not be excluded to interact with the public agencies access through online. Hence, in order to adopt with the new system and keep continuing access to it, the citizens will have to decide either to adopt e-services by considering its benefits and risks. This study is investigates and examines the uses of e-services among the postgraduates students in UiTM Shah Alam. This research proposes a conceptual model of Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) of e-services that integrates constructs from the previous studies and models to form a key factor that influence the use of e-services among citizens. A survey involving a total of 360 UiTM Shah Alam students was conducted. The results reveal that all the factors; usefulness, ease of use and trust are the significant drivers of uses of e-services, and the trust is the most influential factor of these postgraduates students to use e-services.
