There has been an emerging focus on soft skills around the world in recent times as they are deemed to be imperative for organizational productivity. It is found that the main driver of graduate unemployment according to survey respondents are skills mismatches between recent graduates and employers’ demands. Employers increasingly view soft skills such as the ability to think critically and creatively, and to communicate and solve problem independently as a key factor in hiring entry-level graduates, but graduates from Malaysia universities seem to be lacking in these areas. This paper is a survey research. This research is all about the perception of employers on fresh graduates soft skills. The objective of this research is to explore the employers’ perception regarding on interpersonal skill, communication skill, problem solving skill and adaptation ability of the fresh graduates. The survey was conducted by distributing and collecting questionnaires and also using survey websites to the employers who are in the services sector in Shah Alam. 338 respondents have been responded to the survey. The analysis was carried out by conducting descriptive analysis to obtain the means and standard deviations. The findings show that the employers were satisfied with the interpersonal skill, communication skill and problem solving skill possessed by the fresh graduates. However, a few improvements were suggested at the end of this research.
