According to Maslow’s Theory of Hierarchy of needs, housing considers one of the basic needs of human. Therefore, housing ownership is important to people because it will improve the standard of living as it actually seeks chances or opportunities and hedge against financial uncertainty. High selling price, difficult to obtain bank loans, difficult to allocate 10 per cent deposit, type and size of house, and location of housing are several problems faced by people today in housing ownership (Ahmad Ariffian et.al, 2008). In collecting data process, cross-sectional survey to test the hypothesis and questionnaires been distributed to 113 residents of Section 7, Shah Alam. These residents were interviewed at their houses during weekends majority of them were working. Purposive sampling been carried out as the respondents are those who do not own or afford to own a house. As the pilot study shows high reliability value for both variables, the actual survey was proceeds. Descriptive analysis been carried out to profile the respondents of the study in term of age, gender, race, status, education level, working information and rental information. In term of hypothesis, Pearson Correlation test been conducted in order to identify the strength of relationship, direction of relationship and significant value of relationship. The result shows that there is significant relationship between high selling prices, difficult to obtain loans, difficult to allocate 10 per cent deposit with housing ownership. While the other two variables, type and size of house, and location of housing has no significant relationship to variable. In conclusion, the problems faced by residents of Section 7, Shah Alam in housing ownership in term of high selling price, difficult to obtain loans and difficult to allocate 10 per cent deposit.
