FACTORS INFLUENCING PUBLIC ACCEPTANCE OF GOLD DINAR: A STUDY IN KOTA BHARU, KELANTAN


The objective of this research are to identify the relationship between riba/interest-free factor and
public acceptance of gold dinar, to identify the relationship support for government aspiration
factor and public acceptance of gold dinar, to identify the relationship between socio-economic
rectification factor and public acceptance of gold dinar, to identify the relationship between
return on investment factor and public acceptance of gold dinar, to determine the most influential
factor of that contribute toward public acceptance of gold dinar in Kota Bharu, Kelantan. A total
respondent of 220 local resident around Kota Bharu city, Kelantan, were selected randomly to
fill the sets of questionnaires that consist 3 sections which are Section A: Demographic Profile,
Section B: Research Information (A- Riba/Interest-Free, B- Support for Government Aspiration,
C- Socio-Economic Rectification and D- Return on Investment) and Section C: Research
Information (Public Acceptance on Gold Dinar). The data were analysed with Descriptive
Statistics, Reliability Test, Normality, Correlation with Cronbach Alpha and Parametric Test of
Pearson’s and the Regression by using Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) software
version 20. The results indicate there are significance relationships between the factors stated
above. There was also the most impacted factor influencing on the public acceptance on gold
dinar which is the return on investment factor.
