The attitudes toward money are differed from one individual to another. Even money has several dimensions: good, evil, budget, achievement and power. People would choose these dimensions as they perceived on it. Meanwhile, the materialism is said has a positive relationship with the concept of Love of Money. The materialist will make compulsive purchasing as their life goal and think that consumptions will bring happiness to them. In addition, they are also thinking that possession will talk to others on how successful they are. Thus, they need to keep consuming over time. This paper will test the relationship of both Love of Money and Materialism and how the demographic factors such as gender and academic discipline will moderate the relationship. The result of the study portrayed the positive relationship between Love of Money and Materialism while gender and academic discipline of study were not the moderators of the relationship.
