A STUDY ON THE MAIN FACTORS AFFECTING JOB SATISFACTION AMONG ADMINISTRATIVE STAFF IN UNIVERSITI TEKNOLOGI MARA SHAH ALAM


This study aims to determine the main factors that contribute to job satisfaction among administrative staff in Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Shah Alam. The researcher has identified three (3) factors which consist of social, cultural, and organizational factors. The questionnaire has been used as a medium to get the positive response from the respondents of this study. The unit of analysis chosen were the Executive Officers, Senior Executive Officers, Assistant Registrars and Senior Assistant Registrars who are working in UiTM Shah Alam, which total of study done was 80. The main reason why the study will be based in UiTM Shah Alam, because UiTM Shah Alam is the main campus or headquarters for UiTM all over Malaysia and has the biggest number of administrative staff rather than other campuses in the other states. It is important for the employer to identify the main factors which affects employee job satisfaction because the issue relate to employee productivity and organizational commitment. Finding of the study clearly show that the main factors that contribute to the job satisfaction among administrative staff in UiTM Shah Alam is depends on social factors. Hence, communication among each other such as among co-workers or between supervisor and subordinate should be encouraged and improvise from time to time to lead towards job satisfaction.
