EVALUATING WORKSPACE ENVIRONMENTAL SATISFACTION AMONG THE STAFF OF UNIVERSITI MALAYSIA SARAWAK (UNIMAS)


The objective of the study is to Evaluating Workspace Environmental Satisfaction among the Staff of Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS) in Kota Samarahan. The study was done using quantitative approach and 5 departments were identified. The questionnaires were distributed to the respondents amounting to 200 using convenience sampling. Based on the findings of the study, it was found that the correlation value of 0.257 to 0.355 for all of the independent variables against the dependent variable which is the environmental satisfaction shows there is a positive relationship between the two variables. In addition, the multiple regressiontest shows that the most dominant factor that affect environmental satisfaction which is temperature with the sig value of 0.696. The findings illustrate the importance of environmental satisfaction towards the organization. Thus the management team at UNIMAS are advised to take workspace design more seriously aswell as practicing a good workspace design in order to ensure the environmental satisfaction of the employees. Last but not least, it can be said that the level of environmental satisfaction among the employees at UNIMAS is still moderate. Thus the study has meet its objective.
