This paper aims to study the factor that determine recycling practices among resident in Subang Jaya, Selangor. There are several factors that cause the failure in recycling and based on previous study, the researcher have mention many reason that contribute to the failure in recycling. Among them are lack of awareness and knowledge, ineffectiveness of policy and enforcement and inadequate facilities. This paper applied cross sectional study where the questionnaire were distributed to the potential respondent. The respondent of this study were the resident that living in areas of Subang Jaya, Selangor and total of 297 respondent were participated in the survey. This study used the Statistical Packages for the Social Science (SPSS) version 22 for the data analysis. The finding of the study can be divided into three part. Firstly is resident in Subang Jaya, Selangor have a high awareness and knowledge towards factor that lead to failure in recycling. Secondly, inadequate facilities is the most determinant factor that influence the failure in recycling. Lastly, all the three factors a significantly correlate with the factor that lead to failure in recycling. All the finding have been discussed and recommendation for the future research has been proposed.
