FACTORS INFLUENCINGTHE INTENTION TO PLAN FOR EARLY RETIREMENT: A STUDY ON THE ELDERLY WORKERS IN PUBLIC SECTORS IN SHAH ALAM


This study investigates the factors influencing the intention to plan for early retirement among the elderly workers in public sector in Shah Alam. The focus of the study is to examine the level of intention, the relationship of the variables and the most factors that influence the plan for early retirement plan. The target respondents for this study are the elderly workers who have intention to plan for early retirement. In addition, this study used questionnaire-based survey and data was distributed to the selected 3 public agencies in Shah Alam. The total collection data is 130 in which representing the number of the respondents who answered the questionnaire successfully. This study are conducting quantitative research in which the analysed using the Statistical Procedure of SPSS. The first research objective are carried out by using compute mean in which to arrange the value of mean into 3 range of ordinal which is low intention, medium intention and high intention. Secondly, the correlation test are conducted in order to answered the second research objective in which based on the finding it show that there is a significant relationship among the dependent and independent variables. Thirdly, the multiple regressions also have been carried out in order to provide the result of which are the most factors that influence the intention to plan for retirement. Thus, there are some suggestion and recommendation that have been discussed here in order to make future improvement and development.
