The influx of undocumented immigrants have become a security concern in Malaysia especially from the perspective of non-traditional security. It is estimated that in Malaysia, there is a million or more of undocumented immigrants residing in the country. Therefore, the objective of this study is to evaluate the effectives of the repatriation process of undocumented immigrants by the Immigration Department in Selangor as well to explore the challenges faced by the government agency. The study adopts a qualitative research method by using semi-structured interview for data collection. The purposive sampling technique was employed to determine the respondents. Ten Immigration Officers from various branches and positions in Selangor were interviewed. The findings revealed that the repatriation process has been effective in handling the influx of undocumented immigrants in Malaysia. Out of 100 undocumented immigrants, 88 of them were successfully repatriated from the Immigration Depot. Also, the main obstacles or challenges in the repatriation process that were faced by the Immigration Depart originate from the undocumented immigrants. This study also provide recommendations by revisiting the policy stand as well as from law point of view.
