The first objective of this study is to ascertain the leadership style (Transformational leadership and Transactional leadership) of managers in Majlis Perbandaran Subang Jaya (MPSJ). Second, to identify the relationship between the leadership styles (Transformational leadership and Transactional leadership) and employees’ performance in Majlis Perbandaran Subang Jaya (MPSJ). The third objective is to examine which leadership style (Transformational leadership and Transactional leadership) is more effective in helping employees to improve their performance in Majlis Perbandaran Subang Jaya (MPSJ). Fourth, to examine which leadership style (Transformational leadership and Transactional leadership) gives more effect in term of innovation towards employees’ performance in Majlis Perbandaran Subang Jaya (MPSJ).
Besides, the study is done and the result most significant the effect of leadership styles on employees’ performance in MPSJ. A total respondent is 318 staffs who have answered the questionnaires that consist of four sections which are Personal Background or Demographic Question (Section A), Transformational Leadership (Section B), Transactional Leadership (Section C) and Employees’ Performance (Section D). Every staff will be given questionnaire to be answered and data received will be analyzed by using SPSS software 22.0 version. The data was analyzed with Normality Test and Pearson Correlation. The result indicates that there are positive correlations between leadership styles (transformational and transactional) and employees’ performance.
