Organizations nowadays are striving to understand and satisfy customers’ latent needs and expressed needs. The pursuit of competitive advantage also plays a huge role in organizational performance as well as to understand ways of having a sustainable competitive advantage. Hence, it is imperative that these companies can adapt to the demand of the customers and translate all the demands by having learning orientation in order to understand the needs of their customers, competitors and their strategy in order to sustain in the market and thus create their competitive advantage. This study concerns on ways to attain the business performance through learning orientation by looking through the moderating effects of competitive advantage. The previous researchers suggest the need to seek the relationship between learning orientation and business performance from different perspectives which then urges this research to be conducted in Malaysian context. By using the quantitative data collection, the researcher intends to find out what is the connection between learning orientation and business performance and at the same time to access the variable for the study and the achievement of the business performance measures of sales and profits that may be influenced by how effective the firm’s sources of competitive advantage that may moderate learning orientation. Using the questionnaires as the method to collect the data around Selangor, the data was then processed by using SPSS to quantify the relationships, reliability, and validity of the focus of this study.
