DETERMINANTS OF THE OVERALL LEVEL OF JOB SATISFACTION AMONG IMAM FOR KARIAH MOSQUE IN MERSING


Determining the level of job satisfaction among imam for kariah mosque is very important. This is associated with the research conducted by previous researchers about the level of job satisfaction. Satisfied worker will have a positive attitude and behavior, while dissatisfied worker are more to negative attitude and behavior. There are lots of theories about the job satisfaction, and those theories elaborated about different factors that contribute to the level of job satisfaction.
This study is using the Hygiene – Motivator theory, where it is developed by Federick Herzberg. The theory stated that the feeling of satisfaction and dissatisfaction is acting independently, and thus, by combining the hygiene factors and motivator factors is needed to measure the overall level of job satisfaction. This study is using recognition, responsibility, the work itself, supervision, interpersonal relation, and working condition from the hygiene – motivator theory.
The study also wants to measure the educational attainment, age, and tenure of services with the overall level of job satisfaction. The study indicates that the overall level of job satisfaction of imam for kariah mosque is at satisfactory level. The study also has resulted that every hygiene – motivator factors is influencing the overall level of job satisfaction, and working condition is the most influential factor.
