CREATING BETTER EMPLOYEE PERFORMANCE THROUGH EMPLOYEE ENGAGEMENT IN RETAIL INDUSTRY


This study is basically about in creating better employees performance through employees engagement. There are several factors were identified based on the research finding by previous researcher such as communication, working environment, incentives and rewards, leadership styles, training and development, organizational policies and so on. However only three factors were adapted which is work environment, communication and incentives and rewards based on JD-R model and Gallup model. Previously, there are few studies focusing employees’ performance and employees’ engagement in retail industry. Therefore, this study will examine what is the factors contribute to employees’ engagement by strengthening the factors of employees’ engagement. The aim of this research is to identify whether the factors of employees engagements which is work environment, communication and incentives and rewards lead to better employees performance or not. besides that, this research want to give better understanding of employees engagement in context of retail industry and how to enhance employees performance through employees engagement. The data were collected by questionnaires and distributed to Syarikat Faiza Sdn Bhd as targeted respondent. The results were analyzed with SPSS software. The analysis obtained from mean analysis, background of the respondent, pearson correlation to measure the relationship between independent variables and dependent variables. Besides that, multiple regression analysis will be run to measure what is the most influential factors that lead to employees performance. This study also discuss the implication and recommendation for future researcher to do more study about employees engagement and performance in various fields and position and make a comparison in order to get a better solution as a whole for employees engagement and performance.
