COUNTERPRODUCTIVE WORK BEHAVIOURS AMONG POLICE OFFICERS: THE CASE FOR POLICE HEADQUARTERS OF BUKIT AMAN, KUALA LUMPUR


The issue of CWB could affect not only the organization but also the members in the organization. The main objective of doing this research is to investigate the Counterproductive Work Behaviours (CWB) among police officers at Police Headquarters of Bukit Aman, Kuala Lumpur. This study used Causal Reasoning Theory which focused on the factors of situation variable in order to investigate the counterproductive work behaviours among police officers that focus on the leadership style, reward system and the organizational culture factors. A total of 200 questionnaires were distributed and the data were analyzed by using Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) version 25. The finding revealed that CWB among police officers at Police Headquarters of Bukit Aman is at low level (M=1.51, SD=0.687). Finding of this study also showed leadership style is the main factor that contributes to CWB among police officers at Police Headquarters of Bukit Aman. There are negative significant relationship between leadership style and organizational culture with counterproductive work behaviours. Meanwhile, findings showed there is no significant relationship between reward systems with counterproductive work behaviours that happened among police officers at Police Headquarters of Bukit Aman, Kuala Lumpur. The results of this study have led to several significant findings and provide several recommendations especially for future research and the policy maker.
