This research study aims to examine the factor of insomnia and the effect on academic
performance among UiTM Seremban 3 students. The study was conducted by using a
quantitative approach. Under this quantitative approach, the students will be given a
questionnaire which divides into five (5) sections. The questionnaire also consists of the
Linkert Scale range from 1 (strongly disagree) to 5 (strongly agree) and 1 (Never) to 5
(Frequently). Also, these two Linkert scales were used by researchers is allow to find the
personality traits of the individual. Besides, there are about 296 of the total respondents of
this study, and the researcher had used a simple random sampling technique as a method
to find the respondents. Furthermore, the researcher also using SPSS version 25 to find the
result or findings of the study. The results illustrate is to show the relationship between the
three types of independent variables (sleep difficulties, daytime sleepiness, and social
media) that give an impact on the dependent variable (academic performance) among the
students at UiTM Seremban 3. This research will therefore help to recognize and
understand the insomnia factor that may affect the academic performance of UiTM
Seremban students during their studies.
