Purpose: The aim of this paper is to explore the mediating effect of organizational learning culture (OLC) on person-job fit (PJF) and organizational commitment (OC) among junior executives in Malaysia.
Design/methodology/approach: The questionnaire is distributed through web-based and a total of 221 usable responses were collected.
Findings: PJF was found to be improving as tenure increase. OC was found to be slightly different between the three tenure groups researched. There was also a direct link between PJF and OC. Finally, there was a significant mediating effect of OLC on the link between PJF and OC.
Implications: Compared to other research papers which focus more on the direct effect of PJF on OC, this paper adds in to the body of knowledge where a mediating effect of OLC is studied. It also is one of the first few studies done in Malaysia on OLC which could enhance understanding on the importance of OLC in an organization as a medium to improve the organizational culture in Malaysia.
