This study was about to support dimensions and motivation to engage in volunteering activities by UiTM students in Shah Alam. As the world is getting challenging day by day, students’ character building is very important in order to instil their survival skills so that they can be more resilient toward the environment. One of the means that UiTM can adopt is through volunteer activities. The ultimate objective of this study is to find out most prominent volunteer dimensions when students participate in volunteer activities so that future improvement can be made to encourage more participation. This quantitative research was using the items of Volunteer Function Inventory (VFI) was adopted from Synder and Clary (1998) and was administered among 262 respondents for further statistical analysis. Based on the finding, it is found that there are five prominent dimensions actually motivate students to involve willingly in community projects namely, Value Dimension, Enhancement Dimension, Career Dimension, Protective Dimension and Social Dimension. The Understanding Dimension was withdrawn as this dimension shows weak correlation. It is also proof in the analysis; all Independent Variables are correlated with the five dimensions. Recommendations also made by the researcher so that improvisation of the effort can be adopt. This move is vital in order for UiTM to produce quality graduate.
