This paper looks into the five cores of Job Characteristics Model that was introduced by Hackman and Oldham, in which there are the skill variety, task identity, task significance, autonomy and feedback and its relationship with the public employee engagement. This paper looks into three objectives which are first, to determine the correlation between the skill variety, task identity, task significant, autonomy and feedback (Job Characteristics Model) and the level of employee engagement. Second, to determine the implications between skill variety, task identity, task significant, autonomy and feedback (Job Characteristics Model) and the level of employee engagement. The third objectives is to determine the significant effect of Public Service Motivation as a mediator between skill variety, task identity, task significant, autonomy and feedback (Job Characteristics Model) and the level of employee engagement. The researcher conducted the quantitative research in which the toal of 234 questionnaires were distributed at the Ministry of Tourism and Culture (MOTAC) Putrajaya and the target group of this research is the public service employees of MOTAC. Main findings of this paper highlighted all the 5 core Job Characteristics Model do have significant correlation towards the level of employee engagement.
