THE MODERATING EFFECT OF GENDER ON THE RELATIOSHIP OF ORGANIZATIONAL JUSTICE DIMENSIONS WITH JOB SATISFACTION AT THE DEPARTMENT OF HUMAN RESOURCE OF SELANGOR STATE GOVERNMENT


In Malaysia, the public sector organizations rarely taken into consideration on the types of justice dimensions that are preferred by their employees. This is because most of the times, the public organization are conducting the work procedures and process by following the guidelines that has been outlined by the Public Service Department of Malaysia. Therefore, the employees of the organization have to solely to accept on the treatments and rewards that has been given to them. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to identify the most preferred of organizational justice dimensions that led towards the job satisfaction among the employees at the Human Resource department of Selangor State Government. This study also uses the gender variable as the moderating factor that influence the relationship. A set of questionnaires were distributed to 150 employees in the department, which is the total population for this study. This study used Likert-Scale questions to identify the result of dependent variable and independent variables. The data collected are being analyzed using SPSS 21 program. The findings of this study showed that, the interactional justice dimension has the highest score in the mean analysis with value 39.513 and also were found to be the most influential with Beta value 0.647, p=0.000 and the procedural justice dimension were identified to be part of interactional justice based on the data collected. Due to that, only two variables which are distributive justice and interactional justice has shown a positive relationship with the job satisfaction where the correlation value between the distributive justice and job satisfaction is r=0.809 with p=0.000, whereas the interactional justice with the job satisfaction is r=0.886, p=0.000. The moderating effect of gender variable also has shown an effect on the both relationships where female workers show higher effects compared to the male workers. Thus, it can be concluded that most of the objectives of this study were accepted and the researcher believes that the findings and recommendations provided could contribute in this research area
