ATTITUDE, PERCEPTION AND BEHAVIOUR OF MALAYSIAN POLICE TOWARDS POLICEWOMEN ROLES SERVING IN UNITED NATIONS PEACEKEEPING MISSIONS


The purpose of this research was to reveal the Malaysian police behaviour-attitude towards policewomen roles in the United Nations Peacekeeping Missions at the conflicting regions. This research had used self-administered survey questionnaire with 5-point Likert Scale. Respondents were selected using stratified sampling from the police personnel list who had served at the UN Peacekeeping Missions and 380 respondents had participated in the survey. Validated questionnaires were used in this research as the measuring scales where validity and reliability aspects were taken into consideration. Data analysis were conducted using Statistical Package for Social Science (SPPS) where regression analysis was used to analyse data. The finding had revealed that Malaysian police behaviour-attitude has significant relationship with policewomen roles in the United Nations Peacekeeping Missions in the conflicting zones. Perception on Policewomen roles had significant relationship with the Malaysian police behaviour and attitude. In other word, policewomen had significantly contributed to the Malaysian police while serving at the United Nations Peacekeeping Missions in the conflicting zones.
